Bio

Mariana Felcman was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1976. She is a designer and painter by training who works in sculpture and printmaking as well. Mariana has held artist residencies in Turkey and Romania and has shown her work extensively throughout Europe and Latin America. She currently resides in Buenos Aires.

Reflections on Being a Jewish Woman Artist

Being a Jewish woman artist is about women’s inheritance, inheritance from the generations that have come before us — my mother, my mother’s mother, my grandmother’s mother.... I now have the opportunity to offer this inheritance. It is like a braid weaving through generations, year after year, generations of women. Us. We write our history. Women of the Book is to be present in our lives, the lives of the past and of those yet to come.
